
Malaysia's tourism industry currently ranks
as the second largest foreign exchange earned after the export of manufactured
goods and the sixth largest contributor to the economy, contributing a total of
RM161 billions or 14.9% of Malaysia's GDP which brought in more than RM20
billions of investments and contributed more than 2 millions of jobs.

As the huge number of Chinese tourist arrival to Malaysia from 15th July to 15th October 2016, MITA has fight for temporary Mandarin Speaking Guides license.
Ministry of Tourism and Culture has granted
MITA the request to accommodate the
high arrivals of Chinese tourist
Recently, Malaysia Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Mohd
Najib Razak has target to attract more than four million Chinese tourists to
Malaysia each year.
China is an important market for Malaysia.
With the successful implementation of Visa exemption and e-visa system, MITA
hopes to facilitate the travel of more Chinese tourists to Malaysia.
Briefly
about MITA
Malaysia Inbound Tourism Association (MITA)
is focussing mainly in Inbound and Domestic Tourism.
It is committed to make tourism as one of
the main sector in contributing to Malaysia economy.
After more than three months of
establishments, MITA has been actively organised familiarisation trips for
media and international level travel agents especially from new markets such as
Cambodia, Vietnam and Turkey.
In future, MITA will be organising a few
main events such as MITA Sarawak Business Networking, Kedah Travel Fair,
Malaysia Day Sale, Tourism Transportation Forum and MITA Tourism Fair.
MITA also will launch a nationwide campaign
“ThinkTourismActTourism” to instill the right attitude and approach on tourism
to every Malaysia people (Rakyat).
